I have always loved vintage clothing stores.  The outdated fabrics capture my imagination and I often purchase a completely useless item for the sake of owning the color and texture it is fabricated from.  For fun, I google image traditional fabrics from many nations, famous fabric designers and museum costume collections and I pin my favorite textile images on Pinterest, a much more space efficient way to ensure that I don’t forget.

With “Grumpy Princess” I finally let my love for these textiles lead me.  Usually I hold it back, worrying that I will overcrowd the image, that it would be too busy.  I decided that I will do this image for the joy of it, inserting as many textiles as I wanted.  It was not a mistake, I am very pleased with the result and more importantly I enjoyed every minute working on this image.
